How to Change SRD Phone Number | Step-by-Step Guide

If you lost your cellphone number or no longer have access to it, you can still update your contact details for the SASSA SRD R370 grant. This guide shows you the official steps to change your phone number — even if you don’t remember your Application ID.

You can update your number on the official SASSA SRD portal:

Enter your South African ID number
Enter the previous cellphone number (if accessible)
Enter your new cellphone number
Confirm using the OTP sent to your new number

Tip: Make sure your new SIM card is registered in your name (RICA required).

If you forgot or lost your Application ID, you can retrieve it:
